NC BIKE AND PED SAFETY SUMMIT

CABA to attend

Believe it or not the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is actually going to hold meetings with the bicycle and pedestrian groups across the state. The meeting in Charlotte is scheduled for March 2. We’ll keep you posted on the outcome. Sorry, attendance is by invitation only. They tell us the objectives relate to “future initiatives, programs, and policies that might be implemented through a statewide bicycle and pedestrian safety campaign”. Given NCDOT’s track record, we’re skeptical, but hey, it’s free refreshments.

  1. andrew says:

    1.More bike lanes
2.Have drivers pay the true cost of gasoline.
    3.Enforce traffic laws
4.Change Drivers license training literature to include cyclists.
    5. Price of gasoline is not going to be going down
plan for the future of a world will less cars now
so that we don’t get caught with our pants down.
The stranglehold car culture has on municipal planning is slowly loosening. Persistance and
diplomatic cajoling of our municipal legislators
    will pay dividends.
