Coming to a street near you

Oval SignBikeRoutes nov09News from Ken Tippette, CDOT Bicycle Program Manager -CDOT is installing eight signed bike routes,  Should complete by the end of this year.  You can find them on the city-wide bike map (i.e. Charlotte Cycling Guide).  They connect to destinations such as schools, shopping and employment, and they were also chosen because the routes have strong potential for heavier than normal bike traffic.

  1. Jonathan Harding says:

All right! I’ve been wondering when they would get my route 9 signs up on the East side. I really like the new sign graphics. It shows the queen city crown with the classic depiction of a utility bicycle. I wish there was a bike jersey with that on it.

  2. Daniel says:

Where can I view the “Charlotte Cycling Guide” mentioned above? I’ve started noticing these signs around town and would like to know where the different routes go.

  3. Ryan says:

So is it posted online yet? Searching for the map yields little. Thanks!

CABA has asked repeatedly about a digitized map either on the city website or on ours. CDOT gives no indication that it is forthcoming at any time in the foreseeable future.

  4. Dave says:

I’ve looked everywhere for the Charlotte Bicycle Guide, even on the charmeck site at

Why is this so hard to find?

You need to contact Ken Tippette to get hard copies only. No digital map info yet. Sorry about the delay in getting back to you.
