A time for remembrance

Giblin family and many many friends celebrated the grand opening on Friday, August 14. Many of you may recall that Rachel, a talented young lady and accomplished cyclist at age 15, met a tragic death in 2006 when hit from behind during the annual MS 150 ride. Becky and Tom, her parents, have donated and monitored xGiblinBandshelldrummersconstruction of a marvelously designed bandshell structure  at the end of a tree lined axis extending from the Morrison YMCA entrance.  There was a down home bluegrass band and lots of drumming by Rachel’s friends. The Giblin family asked that all donations go to the CABA programs in safety education and legal crash prevention services. Thanks to the MS Society Charlotte chapter for their generous support for this celebration of Rachel’s spirit.
