CABA MEETS WITH BECKY CARNEY

Charlotte State Rep. Chair of Legislature’s Transp.  Committee

Last week Dan Faris – CABA chairperson and Ann Groninger – bike safety attorney – discussed possible changes to state laws governing motorist behavior, including a clause that makes it illegal for drivers to “harass” bicyclists, minimum 3’ passing distance and other issues of “contributory “negligence.

Also discussed cooperation between CABA and the local Dept of Transportation Board members (Dennis Rash in Charlotte) and ways for Becky to work with the new statewide bicycle advocacy group – NCATA (North Carolina Alternative Transportation Alliance) Becky has been a passionate and long-time supporter of bicycling and multi-modal transportation.
